MINISTER REFERS TO RU-
MOURS. Replying to questions in the House re Education Boards and school committees, the Minister said no -statement has been made by me or by any responsible member of Cabinet concerning the status of education boards o_r school committees. Rumours have been in circulation for the last fifteen years regarding the abolition of the boards, and now that they have been revived, a question like this is asked. If any BiU of a drastic nature is going to be brought forward, the honourable member knows that due notice will be given of it. I Mr. W. E. Parry (Auckland Central) : Why not deny the'rumour? “Why should I deny the rumour?” replied the Minister, with spirit. “If I denied every rumour that was circulated, why, I would have nothing else to. do. (Laughter). I deal with facts; I have not the time to deal with rumours.” ~ .. .. •
