MOLASSES AS A CURE FOR CANCER.

lii ft religious magazine several years back an article began, “And the Lord showed Moses a. tree, which, when he had cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.” (Ex. 15.) No doubt there are plenty of undiscovered secrets in the chemistry of the trees. A good many have been discovered, used and abused. The sugar cane has contributed its quota in various ways, but it is something new to have it suggested that one of its products is a cure for one of the worst ills that flesh is heir to —cancer. This is the report that comes from Brisbane, with the request that we will give it publicity. We comply, at the risk of incurring dispeasure in some quarters, because the matter appears simple, harmless, easily tested, and utterly devoid of quackery. A! man of Mackay, Queensland, was feeding his horses with a mixture of chaff and molasses, and getting some of the latter on his hand,, licked it off, and noticed that it “bit” his throat (he was suffering from cancer, it is alleged), but that afterwards he was much relieved. This led him to repeat the experiment, which he did about three times a day. In ten days the growth is said to have disappeared, and about nine months afterwards the man appeared to be cured. Another case is mentioned of a growth in the stomach yielding to a similar remedy. “The Worker,” a Brisbane Labour paper, says that Dr. Henzell, medical officer at the Mackay Hospital, thinks there is something in it

“The Observer,” another Brisbane paper, took the trouble to verify the facts in relation to the cases cited.

\Ve have redeemed our promise. Here is the advice, “without money and without price.” Try it if unhappily you need. If it does not cure, it can scarcely kill, or even injure Of course, the only final hope is in what the Lord will hereafter show the prophet like unto Moses.
