A certain errand boy of Christchurch is in favour of motor-cars carrying their spare tires on the back (says the “Lyttelton Times”). He was converted to this strong belief at about 4 o’clock the other afternoon, with the assistance of the traffic inspector at acrossing. The lad was having a .fine motor-paced race with a rival office boy, when, unfortunately, just at the crossing, his pacer stopped dead to avoid a wayward pcdcstrain. With no time to stop the boy bashed 1 into the back of the car, only to be bounced off neatly by the spare tires. He landed about six feet behind the car, still safe on his bicycle, and very surprised that no one had been killed.
