PRESBYTERIAN RALLY WEEK

«The ladies’ meeting held on Thursday afternoon, in the Masonic Hall, was largely attended by members of the Church and -their friends and a most interesting and instructive address was given by Mrs Peryman, who took as her subject, the word “Rally.” She said every woman had the privilege of helping to build the Kingdom of our. Lord on earth, and each ought to rally round the Church to which they belonged, so that all would have the power that comes from combination and unity. Mrs Downes sang a solo. Mrs Perreau proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs Peryman. This was seconded by Mrs A. Ross, and carried by acclamation. At the close of the meeting afternoon tea was dispensed by the Ladies’ Guild. Yesterday afternoon, at Mrs J. Ross’, Thynne Street, an “Old Folks’ At Home” was held, wdien a pleasant hour was spent by a number of the older identities of the town. A short address was delivered by Mr Nicholas, and the rendering of some old-time songs by Mrs Downes was enjoyed by all, and the excellent hospitality of the hostess completed a most enjoyable afternoon.
