CRUSHED BY POLE. . Waipukurau, Last Night. An accident to a 'Waipukurau telegraphic employee Avhile staying a pole at Te Ante at midday terminated fatally this afternoon, Edward Joseph Casey, aged 35, dying at the Waipukurau Hospital from being severely crushed. He Avas in the hole around the post Avhen the staying Avire gave Avay through the anchors slipping in very sodden ground. The pole had to be jacked from the unfortunate man Avho received prompt medical attention. He leaves a AvidoAV and one child. An inquest Avill be held to-morroAV.
