Miss E. Owen returned to Wellington this morning after spending her annual vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs. R. Owen. Dr. F. G. Ward, late of the Medical Staff of the Christchurch Hospital, took up his duties as medical superintendent of the Palmerston North hospital yesterday. Miss R. King, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. King, of Avenue Rd., was admitted to the Palmerston N. Hospital yesterday with a serious indisposition. The death is announced of Lady Lauder, wife of Sir Harry Lauder, the famous Scotish comedian. She underwent an operation on Monday, and was progressing satisfactorily till this morning, when she sank suddenly and died.
