A FALL IN MILK
OR THE MILKY WAY.
It happened somewhere in the vicinity of Liddell Street on a recent frosty morning. “Sunshine” splendidly caparisoned in well kept harness drew the milk float a picture of cleanliness. The outfit was in charge of the “little Highlander.” Both horse and man thoroughly understood each other. Anyhow “Sunshine” slipped on the road which upset the lactic fluid, giving the roadway the appearance of the “milky way.” Gaelic imprecations brought out. the neighbourhood and there they beheld “Sunshine” spread out on the road. “Happy” from a safe distance, gave instructions as to what should be done, hut the “Cobbler,*’ a man of action rather than words, sized up the situation at a glance an'l sat on “Sunshine s head, while the “little Highlander released the faithful animal from the harness and got him on his feet. “Happy” now claims another addition to his numerous feats in times of grave crisis.
