HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.

The High Commissioner’s cablegram, dated the 16th inst., reads: —Hemp, Manila market quiet but steady. “J” grade, July-September shipments quoted at £43 value. The Sisal market shows better demand and sales are reported afloat as follows:—No. 1, £3B to £3B 10s, Tanganyika and Kenya, July-Sep-tember shipments, No. 1 quoted at £3B and No. 2 £37 sellers. New Zealand market continues quiet and values nominally unchanged. Shippers are asking £36 for hig’h points but no business is reported at this price.
