MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR

WANGAEHU FARMER’S DEATH,

Wanganui, July 14,

A mysterious accident on Wednesday night has been followed by the death to-night of Win Barnard Connors. Deceased, who was a farmer of Wangaelm, twelve miles from here, called on the employees of the Wangaelm Dairy Factory, on Wednesday evening, leaving at 10.30 for home. Shortly before 1 a.m. he returned with his overcoat burned off and his clothing in rags. As a result of something Connors said, the factory was visited and in the testing room a bottle of sulphuric acid was found smashed. Connors was brought into the city this morning and died in the public hospital to-night.
