SERIOUS CHARGES

THREE YOUNG MEN BEFORE THE COURT. Christchurch, July 12. Three young men appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day before Mr E. D. Masley, S.M., on serious charges. Robert Grant Bastion (aged 20) and Walter James Alexander Mitchell (aged 29), were charged with unlawfully using an instrument upon a young girl; Harry Allen Fellingham (aged 22) and Mitchell were charged with a similar offence in respect of another girl. The Court was cleared during the hearing of the evidence. Accused pleaded not guilty, and weie committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed lellingham, self in £250 and two sureties of £125 each.
