THEN AND NOW.
According to. Or. Thompson the N.Z. Railways, or at least the Fox-ton-Palmerston section, must now be very obsolete. At last night s Borough Council meeting lie drew forth broad smiles from his fellow Councillors by remarking that “in the days gone by when people used the railways” he had seen many vehicles “parked” at the end of Clyde Street near the station. We may add that since the advent of motor service cars and char-a-bancs the travelling public have transferred their patronage to this mode of travel.
