TWO WOMEN ESCAPE FROM FLAMES.

Napier, Last Night,

A two-storey, eight ••roomed house owned by E. Valley Hudson, of Auckland, and occupied by Mr. IT. Dixon, was almost cumpletoly gutted by fire this afternoon. The outbreak started in the wash-house and the flames had a good hold before two women upstairs became aware of it, and their escape was only possible by the assistance of two men who noticed their plight. Nothing was saved. Insurances on the house are iinasocrtainablo. Dixon’s furniture is covered liv a £350 policy. The top storey was let as a llilt and the occupiers had no cover on their effects.
