EXCITING CHASE.
MOTOR-OWNER AND THIEVES. ONE ARREST MADE. i Auckland, June 15. A ear owned by Mr. J. Raul, Y.M.C.A. secretary at the Public Works camp at Tania ki, was taken from its parking-place in Grafton Road last night. Mr. Paul had been at a party and came out in time to see the vehicle gliding away. With two friends lie gave chase. The car stopped at the bottom of a hill, the occupants going down in neutral, and, being unable to get it to go any further, the two men jumped out* The pursuers caught one of them hiding in the Domain undergrowth. Though the prisoner twice broke loose, Mr. Paul and bis companion got him again, eventually pinioning the joy-rider and immediately removing him to the Police Station. He proved to he a mail who was before the Court yesterday on a charge of the unlawful conversion of another car. lit* will appear in Court next Monday to answer both charges.
