PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly committee meeting of the local Plunket Society was held in the Plunket office yesterday afternoon. Those present were: Mtsdames F. Robinson (President), C. Pearson, W. Trueman, C. Edwards, 11. Downes, A. Baker, D. Christie, M. E. Perreau, D. Ogilvy, A. Stevenson and R. MeMurray (lion. sec.). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. \ Ross, D. R. Barron, W. H. Walton and F. Procter. The President extended a welcome to Mrs. D. Ogilvy, a new member of the committee.
Following on the motion carried at the annual meeting “that an advisory board be formed,” the secretary reported that the President and herself had waited on the gentlemen proposed, and they had consented to act. The board will therefore consist of Messrs M. E. Perreau .(Mayor), D. Christie and W. Trueman. It was decided to invite the members of the board to meet the ladies Committee at their next monthly meeting. The Nurse’s monthly report showed visits to Foxton 4, to homes 11, adults to office 79, babies 71, older children 49, total of 199; eases 2.
Pleasure was expressed by the committee that Sister Kearins L who is in charge of the Palmerston North branch, had paid several visits to the Foxton branch on relieving duty, during Nurse MacGillvarey’s absence on holidays. Accounts amounting to £4 12s 9d were passed for payment. Mesdumes Robinson and Trueman were appointed visitors for the month.
