HARROW ESCAPE PROM DROWNING.

CYCLIST FALLS OYER THE WHARF. A young man named W. Proctor had a narrow escape from drowning at the local wharf on Thursday afternoon. He was riding a bicycle along the edge of the wharf, when he overbalanced and, together with his cycle, fell into the water. When lie came to the surface he managed to grasp a rope mooring a punt to the wharf and supported himself until Air. Pino Moses hauled him to safety. The bike was recovered with a grapple some time biter. Under similar circumstances a year or so ago a Foxton youth lost his life. Fortunately, on this occasion the cycle did not strike its rider during the fall.
