WORK AT PALMERSTON. The site for the maturity home at Palmerston North is now practically ready for the contractor to commence and the final draft of the specifications from the Department of Health lias been received, according to information tabled at Thursday’smeeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board. The chairman (Sir James Wilson) intimated that the secretary was arranging for a special meeting of the board, at which the plans would be fully considered, and the details disposed of.’ It was hoped also to have the tenders for the work available for the next meeting of the hoard.. Concerning the nurses’ home building, the secretary reported that during the month the work had proceeded satisfactorily. During the month he proposed taking on a small gang of labourers to do roading work at the hack of the new home.
