WOMAN BURNT TO DEATH
TIMARU TRAGEDY. Timaru, June 7. Elizabeth Bentley, a married woman of 57 years, paralysed for the past four years and blind for the past three weeks met a tragic fate to-day. She was left sitting before a fire while her husband went to town to make some purchases. He returned half an hour later to find that his wife’s clothes had taken fire and sin* was seriously burned. Medical aid was summoned and >h(* was removed to the public hospital where she died four hours la--1 er.
