FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board was held in Palmerston North yesterday, presided over by the chairman (Mr J. Linklater, M.P. Also present were: Messrs J. A. Nash, M.P., Chrystall, Barber, 11. Berry, A. Kellow, Mortensen, and tlu* secretary (Mr R, Rangiheuca). The new members, Messrs A. J. Kellow (Foilding), 11. Berry (Foxton), were accorded a welcome to the Board by the Chairman. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: From the Marine Department, advising that the Department could not furnish the Board with a comprehensive report on its two dredges, but suggesting that a ship’s surveyor be engaged to do the work. —Received, the matter being left in the hands of the Chairman. From A. G. Dawick, enclosing account for the removal and reerection of the bathing sheds at the Beach, totalling £2O. —Passed for payment. From S. Davey, asking the Board lo supply pipes and flood gate in connection with his property at Manawatu Heads.— Resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the local committee with power to act. From the Foxton Chamber of Commerce re overseas publicity. — The Chairman was appointed to represent the Board at the conference. LEASES. A lease from the Board to E. J. C. Gore, and a transfer from E. A. M. Arnott to M. O’Reilly, were approved. FLAXMILL SITES. The Chairman was authorised to procure titles to certain lands fronting the river.
