PERSONAL.

A Mr. and Mrs. John Nicholson Sproat, of Kay-street, Stalybridge, England, who were born on the same day in 1853, and who have been deaf and dumb from birth, celebrated their golden wedding last month.

Mr. P. J. Hairs, who for the past eight months has officiated as minister for the Presbyterian Church in the Waikato district, is a visitor to Foxton. Some years ago Mr Mail's was in charge of the Foxton Methodist circuit.
