NEW HOTEL.
AN AUCKLAND VENTURE.

AUCKLAND May 22. The Premier inspected the plans oi the proposal by a company to erect in Auckland a new hotel embracing the latest English and Continental ideas at an estimated cost of £204,300. Mt Coates said such an hotel was badly needed in Auckland because most of tin tourists landed here. Another hotel was needed in Dunedin to serve the cold lakes district. Improvement was needed at Rotorua and Queenstown. Then the Dominion would not he badly served, ll private enterprise provided for the tourists the Government would cooperate through the Tourist and Railway Departments. It is estimated that the new hotel can be run at 27s 6d per day for the best rooms, including everything.
