A meeting of the Foxton branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist Schoolroom on Thursday afternoon. The principal business was to arrange for the meeting of the District Executive to beheld in Fox ton next Thursday, when about 1G delegates from the Wellington District are to be present. It was decided to hold a public meeting next Thursday evening, when Miss C. E. Kirk, J.P., will deliver an address on ‘‘Domestic Courts and the after care of inmates from the Borstal Institute.” The meeting to be open to the public. Musical items to be provided and a collection will be taken up to defray expenses. Miss Oates, District President, will occupy the chair.
