MEETS WITH APPROVAL OF MAJORITY OF BUSINESSMEN.

This morning Air D. Christie, (Vice-president of the Boston Chamber of Commerce), and Air R. Hornblow (secretary) waited on local businessmen with a requisition for a continuous telephone service locally and met with great success, more than two-thirds of the subscribers affected being in favour of extending the hours of service.

The canvass of businessmen having proved successful the Chamber will now approach private subscribers and when the requisite number (two-thirds) have signed up the petition will be placed before the P. and T. Department. '•
