MINISTER OF FINANCE AT FEILDING.

The Hon. W. D. Stewart (Minister of Finance) delivered a policy speech at Eeilding last night. Trade balance, Government borrowing, Stale advances, loan expenditure, farmers’ finance, the Public Debt and the housing problem were, amongst other subject, discussed by the Minister, who concluded with the reassuring announcement that, although the cun cut year was a difficult one, and the picture not all sunshine, the future could he looked forward to with confidence. The meeting passed a resolution reaffirming its confidence in the Refrom Government cheers being given for Mr Stewart. The National Anthem concluded the proceedings.
