SLY GROG CHARGE

Taumarunui, April 30.

William James Blackman was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with keeping liquor for sale in a proclaimed no-license area. Mr. A. E. Seaton, who appeared for accused, elected that the case should go before a jury, and after the evidence of about ten witnesses had been taken accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Hamilton for trial. Bail was allowed in the sum of £IOO.

David Finlay, a carrier, charged with aiding Blackman in the commission of an offence, was fined £5 Is., with costs £l4 10s Bd. Security for appeal was fixed at £ls 15s. ’
