GIRL GUIDES.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION,
Last evening the Girl Guides and Brownies celebrated the first birthday of the Foxton Girl Guides company by a birthday party given by the Guides committee.
The girls assembled at the Town Hall supper room at 7.30 p.m.. Mrs. Peryman gave a very interesting address concerning the pledge and badges of the movement. (An outline of the address is given under a separate heading). Games were indulged in under the direction of Miss Dent and Mrs. Stanley, and .from the enthusiasm shown, the girls thoroughly enjoyed them. A very tasty supper was then partaken of, which included an iced birthday cake with its one candle—the first cut being made by the smallest guide. After another exciting ball game, the birthday song was sung, cheers were given for the committee, and for Miss Dent. Mrs Peryman was thanked for her address and the party came to an end by the singing of the “National Anthem.”
