FOXTON FIRE BRIGADE

VISIT BY CAPTAIN HUGO. Captain Hugo, Government Inspector of Fire Brigades, paid an official visit to Foxton on Tuesday. He inspected the fire station and plant and in the evening lie addressed the brigade and witnessed a turn-out. The officers and men were complimented upon the efficiency shown, and certain defects were pointed out. After the inspection, Captain Hugo met members of the newlyformed Foxton Fire Police corps and interestingly outlined the duties and obligations of members. He subsequently “swore in” the foliowing additional members: Messrs F. G. Yeo, C. A. Pearson and J. Newton.

The Inspector’s address was much appreciated by those present.
