DIXON CUP MATCH

Foxton’s challenge for the Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges fell due yesterday, and a rink from the local club, skipped by Thomson, made the journey to Feilding to try conclusions with Herd man’s rink, the present holders. The heavy rain experienced up til! after midday made the green somewhat sodden, but otherwise the conditions were pleasant enough. Feilding players showed superiority over their opponents from the commencement of play, and by dint of superior howls steadily increased their score until the final end showed tho totals as 30 —10 in their favour. Hcrdman is known as a skilful and aggressive skip, and is supported by a combination that understands his style of play, and which has become a knotty problem among contesting rinks in the Centre. Foxton bowlers, although not at any time looking like winners, thoroughly enjoyed the match and the goodfellowship of their Feilding opponents. The details are as follows : R. Ross, J. Bartholomew, W. Quayle, Hcrdman (s) 30, Mat tar, Huntley, Christie, Thomson (s) 16.
