DUCHESS OF YORK’S ILLNESS.

AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT.

The mil deg-ram, published on Saturday, to the effect that a London newspaper, “The Mirror,” had stated that Her Royal Highness the Duchess of York was not suffering from tonsilitis while in New Zealand, but. was merely resting in view of the impending visit to Australia, is the subject of an official denial. The statement, it is pointed out, is quite contrary to fact. Her Royal Highness had a severe attack of tonsilitis,'as stated in the official medical bulletins. Her temperature during the first three or four days of her illness was over 102 degrees and she had by no means recovered her strength before leaving Wellington.
