METHODICT CHURCH

HARVEST FESTIVAL The Methodist church on Sunday last was bright with illustrations of the Creator’s bounties, and included flowers, fruit, field and garden produce, charmingly arranged by a hand of enthusiastic! workers. Harvest thanksgiving hymns were heartily sung and much enjoyed. If “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine” then good health should follow such singing. 'The Rev. G. T. Brown, ALA., of Palmerston North, was the morning preacher and he captured the imagination and warmed the hearts of those present, with seed thoughts and illustrations. „ A large congregation assembled in the evening when in addition to the usual features of such a service a duet entitled “The Alaster walked in His garden,” was sweetly sung by Afisses F. Chalk and I. Hughes. A full choir under the leadership of Mr. H. Osborne led the congregation in the musical portion of the service. Miss Perjman acted as organist- and accompanist. The preacher (Rev. Si Peryman), taking-Job’s words, “Speak to the earth and it shall teach thee, produced a number of facts to show how our faith in a Heavenly Father who was pledged to provide for our wants was fully justified.
