Alccklcj a commercial traveler, of Nelson, became uncontrollable when the steering wheel suddenly collapsed in the driver’s hands at a bend in the main road between Blenheim and Nelson at Okaramio. The car turned over and pinned Aliss G. O’Connor under the car, which had to be jacked up before she could be extricated. She suffered a severe scalp wound, concussion, and minor injuries, and was sent to the hospital. Air. Meckle was thrown out, and received a dislocated and fractured collarbone and facial injuries. After treatment- in Blenheim he returned to his home in Nelson.
