CRUSHED BY ROAD ROLLER.
Waipawa, March 21. John Cleary, a labourer, aged 45, met with a tragic death on Omakere road. He was driving the County road roller up a steep pinch, and it is supposed that in endeavouring to change gears, lie missed. The roller ran backwards over a bank and Cleary’s head was crushed to pulp. He leaves a widow.
