HOROWHENUA - DISTRICT COUNCIL. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Horow hernia Rugby District Council was held in Levin on Tuesday evening. Mr. J. J. O’Connor (president) was in the chair, and there was an attendance of 40 delegates, the clubs being represented by the following numbers of delegates: —Wanderers 5, Wcraroa 6, County 3, Foxton 3, Shannon 6, Miranui 5, Hui Mai 5, Kuku 1, Awahou 6. TEAMS NOMINATED. The following teams were nominated by the clubs affiliating for the 1927 season: — Wanderers. —Senior, junior, and third grade. Wcraroa. —Senior, junior and third. County.—Senior. Foxton. —Junior, third and fourth. Miranui. —Senior and junior. Awahou. —Senior, junior, third and fourth. Shannon. —Senior, junior, third and fourth. Hui Mai. —Senior and junior. Kuku. —Third. CLASSIFICATIONS The folloAving junior players have been promoted to senior rank by the classification committee: — Miranui. —Buekman, Rowlands, Simpson, Pene. Shannon. —Saltier ley, Robbie, Coyle. Weraroa. —Bull, Phillips, Vincent, Perrin, H. Cole. Wanderers. —Knox. . 'Foxton. —R. Andrews, J. Huff. Awahou. —C. Reneta, Pine, Hindu, E. Robinson. A congratulatory letter was received: from the patron, Mr. J. Linklater M.P. The chairman reviewed the work of last season and complimented the officials on the success which had attended their efforts. The secretary Mr. Casey, urged all players to join the insurance scheme and stated that each player insuring must pay the doctor’s examining fee. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr. J. Linklater, M.P. (re-elected); president, Mi’. J. J. O’Connor (reelected) ; vice-presidents Messrs S. Austin, W. Anderson, and J. Procter; secretary, Mr. J. J. Casey (reelected) ; management committee, Messrs W. Neville. (Foxton), J. W. Robson (Miranui), M. Ryder (Wan- . derers), F. Robinson (AwahouJTWJoyce (Weraroa), A. Richards " (Shannon), and T. Wrigley (Kuku), auditor, Mr. W, Bull (re-elected); representative on Referees’ Association, Mr. 11. Kidson; schools representative, Mr. H. McDonald; sole senior selector, Mr. Martin Winiata; sole junior selector, Mr. F. Robinson. OPENING DATE. The opening of the season was fixed for April 23rd, the first Saturday after Easter. REP. MATCHES ALLOCATED. The other representative fixtures were allocated as follows: — First Bebbington- Shield match. — Foxton. Manawatu v. Horowhenua match. —'Shannon.
