SPORTS MEETING AT LEVIN

Arrangements have been made for a first-class sports meeting this evening oil the Park Domain, Levin. The services of the Wellington Military Band have been engaged, and the fields will be amongst the largest even seen on a Now Zealand track. Included amongst the cyclists will be Grose (N.Z. champion), Oakley, Flctt, McFedrics, Ross and Ericsson, in 'Competition with the local champion, C. Dunn, who is now in excellent form. There will be fields of over 20 in each of the senior cycling event#, and some prominent performers will be seen in the foot races. An additional attraction will be an attempt by Bright, the Wellington cyclist, paced by Mangham on a motor-cycle, to break the Now Zealand paced record. The funds will be in aid of the Foxton Club’s now cycle track. The following , are handicaps for riders whose entries came to hand after the programme had been printed: —H. Scarfe (Wellington) : Half mile, 20 yds; 1 mile, 30 yds; 2 mile, 60 yds; 3 mile, 100 yds; 5 mile, 1(30 yds. N. Gane: 20 yds, 30 yds, G yds, 10 yds, 160 yds. A. Horsall: 40yds., 60yds., 100yds., 150 yds, 200 yds. R. Jamies: 70 yds, 90 yds, 160 yds, 200 yds, 300 yds. R.. Robinson: 60 yds, 90 yds, 160 yds, 260 yds, 380 yds.
