CARETAKER’S COTTAGE TO BE. ERECTED.

AT TOWN HALL. At last night’s Borough Council meeting plans and specifications were submitted by Mr. M. R. Varnham, architect, of Levin, for a caretaker’s cottage at the rear of the Town Hall. The Clerk said that at present the Council was paying 25/- per week rent for the caretaker, and this amount would more; than meet interest on a loan of £7OO, the estimated cost of the dwelling. Councillors expressed their approval of the scheme and it was decided to raise a loan of £7OO to carry out the work.
