STOLE A FOUNTAIN PEN
THIEF WITH £OOO BANKING ACCOUNT. Dunedin, March 4. Although Ambrose Albert Phillips had over £OOO in the Savings Bank, lie appeared at the Magistrate’s Court this morning- charged with the theft of a fountain pen valued at 205., the property of a clerk in the Post Office Savings Bank, where the accused went to draw some money. Counsel explained that the accused had been on a drinking bout, and the Magistrate remanded him in custody, remarking that he was still suffering from the effects ot drink.
