BISHOPS ADVICE TO YOUNG GIRL
SPURN A MAN WHO OFFERS COCKTAILS. Auckland, Last Night. “If a young man offers yon a never go out with him again.” Dr. Wiimiington-Ingrahi, Bishop of London, advised a gathering of school girls at Acton (England) several {months ago. In an address to"the girls of the Diocesan High School this morning Dr. Ingram referred to his speech at Acton saying that some of the girls might have read his remarks published in the newspapers. “Be careful in what you eat and drink, whether you smoke or not, and he sure to take regular exercise,” continued Dr. Wsniiington-In- y . gram. Regarding cocktails the Bishop said nothing was wo rise for > ruining a girl’s constitution. Dr. Ingram then urged the girls to keep their minds active. A wife, he said, should be a companion to her husband not only in the home but also in thought. His own mother who had died two years ago at the age of 90 years had been as active in her mind as a schoolgirl right up to the time of her death. Girls should endeavour to keep their hearts young and their sympathies quick. For peoplei who lost touch with human life became old at 40. Finally Dr. Ingram advised the girls to keep their souls in touch with their living God who was always young and could pour life into them. One wav in which, they could keep in touch with God was to be regular in their prayers. An old saying about those whom the Gods love dying young, did not mean young in years, but rather young in heart.
