' Last night several local athletes visted Palmerston North for the purpose of participating in sports in connection with the Jubliee. The successful eompetitorsxnre as follows : One mile B grade cycle: —G. Aldridge (55yds) 3. Broad jump:—T. Wright. (18in) 18ft. 10in., tied with Weston (Palmerston North, for second place. Two mile B grade cycle handicap: —G. Aldridge (scr) 2. Hop, step and jump:—W. Wright (24in) 3. In the half mile cycle handicap C. Short! (50yds), came second in his heat hut was not placed in the final.
