DRUNKEN MOTOR-CYCLIST
KILLED BY FALL.
Dunedin, February 25,
“The evidence shows the danger of a. man under the influence of liquor, driving a motor-cycle or ear, and in this case the unfortunate man himself paid the penalty,” said Mr. 1L \V. Bundle, S.AI., sitting as Coroner, this morning, at the adjourned inquest on the circumstances surrounding the death of Albert Nesbitt, which occurred on February 20, as the result of bis being, thrown from a motor-cycle near On tram on February 16. “There is little doubt regarding the cause of death,” said the Coroner in returning bis verdict. “Deceased and a friend, the witness Thompson, indulged in a drinking bout on the night of February 15 after which deceased was riding- a motor-cycle. Thompson being on the carrier. It was quite apparent that when they arrived at deceased’s brother-iu-, law’s place they were very much under the influence of liquor and apparently intended to continue the bout at Middlemareli. They received no drink at Outram, but after going seven miles the bicycle skid-
ded, deceased certainly not being capable at this stage of driving.”
The Coroner found that deceased had died in the Dunedin Hospital on February 20, the cause of death being cerebral injuries received by being thrown from a motor-cycle driven by himself on February 16, near the Lee Stream Road.
