THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE,
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 19th instant, reads: — Hemp, Manila' market easy with “J” grade, February-April shipments ciuoted at £43 16s, value. The Sisal market is quiet and steady with Tanganyika and Kenya No. 1, August shipments quoted at £4O, values; No. 2, £39. Buyers idea 10/- to 20/- per ton less. The New Zealand market continues dull but steady with January-March and February-April shipments, high points, £36 and fair £35.
