PERSONAL.

The death took place at Nelson, yesterday, of Edward Walter Seeker, aged 60 years. The late Mr Seeker was well-known in Palmerston North and as a young man was a keen Rugby player. He was the author of the well-known football song “On the Ball.” He leaves a widow and grown up family.

A London cable announces the death*of Sir Frederick Green, founder of the Orient Steamship Line. The deceased was in his 82nd year. He was a director of the Suez Canal Company, and of the Bank of New South Wales and a member of the council of King Edward’s Hospital Fund. He leaves four sons and three daughters.
