ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND.

The Renown accompanied by ships of the Naval division dropped anchor in the harbour at 9 o’clock this'morning. ■ '*
. The weather was not at its best but the city presented a gala appearance and thousands of visitors have arrived from the country. The Governor-General called upon Their Royal Highnesses immediately, followed by the Ministers of the Crown a few minutes later. At this meeting the formal address of welcome from the Government was pfesented. At 10 o’clock the Duike and Duchess of York landed and proceeded to thy Government Hotise.
Crowds thronged the streets en route and the Duke and Duchess received a great ovation, as they proceeded to the Town Hall where they were accorded a civic recepr tion and presented with an address of welcome.
Seventy-two constables selected from all over New Zealand form a Royal escort. All are men-of splendid physique and height, averaging six feet three inches.-.;,,.
