COUNCIL AUTHORISES PLAN'S,
EASTON PARK SITE AGREED
At last night’s meeting of the Borough Council a letter was received from Mr. R. Such a hath to he of concrete anti will have ordinary conveniences.
The Mayor recommended that plans and specifications be prepared by the architect and tenders called for the work. The baths would then be ready for the public for the opening of the swimming season next year.
Cr. Cowley asked if the price quoted meant that the baths would be handed over to the Council without any further cost.?
The Mayor intimated that Mr. Edwards was cognisant of the facts concerning costs and the matter could he left in his hands. Cr. Walker endorsed Ibis remark.
A plan of the park was submitted and it was unanimously decided to erect the baths in a position near the rear of the gas works, behind tlie shrubbery at the right entrance to the park, and to run parallel with the Awaliou drain.
