DECEMBER WORKING.

The amount of gas manufactured during the month of December was 378,5U0i't., which with the amount in the holder on December Ist 10,400 ft. made a total of 388,900 ft. During- the month 320,400 ft were used by consumers, 21,000 ft. at the works and there was 16,000 ft. in the, holder on January Ist, making a total of 357,400 ft. accounted for and leaving 31,500 ft. representing 8.8 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-four tons of coal wer carbonised, yielding 11,132c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 8 tons of coke.

The receipts: for the month totalled £224 14s Tld and were made up ,

as follows:-—Gas sales (lighting) £42 6s lOd, heat and power £lO4 8s lOd, coke sales £47 2s 7d, tar sales £22 19s 6d, fittings £7 6s 2d, miscellaneous 11/-.

The expenditure for the month totalled £224 7s 5d and were made up as follows: —Coal £9B 10s 2d, salaries and wages £4O, services and fittings £ll 4s Id, tools £1 5s Bd, engine nil £4 5s lOd, general repairs £3 9s 2d, cartage and freight £3 17s 2d, working expenses 3/6, Power Board £2, Interest and Sinking Fund £59 11s Bd. The above, .report was adopted at last night’s Council meeting.
