LOCAL TELEPHONE FIGURES.

At Thursday night’s meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, the postmaster (Mr. Newton) gave some interesting information in connection with the local telephone exchange. He said that in 1925 there were 193 subscribers which had since increased to 227 with 12 on the waiting list and 16 had been disconnected. The total toll calls for the past twelve months were 57,712 an increase of 2597 over the previous year. ,
