CHURCH SAFE ROBBED.
EXPLOSIVES USED AT FETLDING.
FeiUUng, February U
The vestry of . St. John’s Church was broken into last night, the safe blown open, and Sunday’s collections, totalling about £lO, taken. The church door is never locked, and entrance, was easy.
The collections are usually banked on Sunday night, but owing to the absence on holiday of the church treasurer, they were for the first time in its history left in the safe.
The explosion ruined the safe and did some small damage to the building.
