EXCURSION TRAINS

SCHOOL CHILDREN AT THE

SEASIDE.

The Hokowhitu School . picnic took place at the local seaside yesterday. About 230 adults and children arrived on the special train at 8.30 a.m. They transhipped at the wharf into AH’. J. Joseph’s launch and were conveyed down the river to the beach, where an enjoyable time was spent on the ocean beach with sports etc. It was a tired, sunburnt but extremely happy party which left again for home in a special train at 6.30 p.m.

To-morrow a Sunday excursion train will be run between Terrace End, Palmerston North, and Foxton. Given a line day, it is anticipated that the traffic will he heavy.
