RACING.

The Pahiatua Racing Club’s annual meeting opened yesterday in ideal weather and that it was a success may be gathered from the fact that the totalisator figures were only £445 behind last year, which was a record for a number of years. The amount put through the totalisator was £12,828. There was a large crowd present. The results a,re as follows: —

Konini Hack Handicap:—Polyastra 1, Alolto 2, Jazzy 3. Won by half ft length. Time 1.30. Alakuri Hack Handicap.:—Lady Ideal 1, Riverna 2, Coot 3. Won by a. length. /Time 1.15 2-5.
