RACING.
The Pahiatua Racing Club’s annual meeting opened yesterday in ideal weather and that it was a success may be gathered from the fact that the totalisator figures were only £445 behind last year, which was a record for a number of years. The amount put through the totalisator was £12,828. There was a large crowd present. The results a,re as follows: —
Alaidcn Handicap:—Abbey Queen .1, Colarina 2. Heather Blend 3/Won by a length. Time 1. 1C 3-5. Balia ncc- High - Weight Handicap: —A rataura 1, Ali.sgo.vern 2, Stream 3. Won bv a nose. Time 1.30.
Hamua Hack Handicap:—Conviction 1, Tannadice 2, Time 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.43 3-5. Pahiatua Handicap:—Nukumai 1, Modern 2, Bright Day 3. Won by a length. Time 2.9 1-5. Konini Hack Handicap:—Polyastra 1, Alolto 2, Jazzy 3. Won by half ft length. Time 1.30. Alakuri Hack Handicap.:—Lady Ideal 1, Riverna 2, Coot 3. Won by a. length. /Time 1.15 2-5. President’s Handicap:—Buoyant 1, First Acre 2, Bright Knight 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.14 4-5.
Eketalnina Handicap -.—Wilderness 1, Afoepai 2, The Tank 3. Won bv half ft length. Time 1.29 2-5.
