PINK WEDDING

MASON—ROBINSON

A wedding which created much interest was celebrated in All Saints’ Church, Foxton, yesterday when Francis Augustus Mason (headmaster of the local District High School), was united to Ino Lucy, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Robinson, of “Pi Kotuku,” Beach Road. The interior of the church was charmingly decorated with cream and pink flowers, by the bride’s cousins. The Rev. W. H. Walton, vicar, officiated. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and was charmingly attired in pink georgette, Avith silver lace, silver shoes and stockings and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids Avere Miss Lorna Robinson (cousin) in blue taffeta, blue tulle cap Avith gold leaves, gold shoes and stockings and Miss Haney Robinson (cousin) attired in primrose taffeta, gold shoes and stockings and gold tulle cap. Miss Meta and Joan Mason, tAvo charming little flower girls, were dressed in creme crepe de diene, with wreaths of blue flowers and blue and . primrose sash es. Mr Battersby officiated as bestman and Mr Olsen as groomsman. As the bridal party left- the altar, the wedding march was played by the organist. Among those in attendance at the ceremony, Avere the bride’s mother, who Avore black georgettC, witli overdress of black, and white georgette, black hat, tulle scarf; the bride’s sister, Mrs White, beige georgette, gold tissue hat; Mrs Flower, black georgette, with hands of pamtne floral velvet, black lint; Miss Robinson, mauve, and white crepe de cheno, black lint: Miss B. Robinson, floral pink crepe de diene, pink hat; Miss Douglas, cherry georgette skirt and, jazz jumper in tone, green hat; Miss Pi. Flower, white embroidered muslin, green hat. It Avas a pink Avedding, and the colour scheme throughout was most effective. -After the ceremony the relatives of the bride and bridegroom assembled at Hie charming residence of the bride’s parents, “Pi Kotuku,” .where the breakfast was partaken of. The room decorations were in pink, interspersed with pink and '■■mauve sweet peas, and set in the centre of the breakfast table, was a handsome pink wedding mike.

The usual toasts and felicitous speeches were, made at the breakfast.

The presents testified to the popularity of the couple. Arnbng the guests were Mrs James Robinson and family; Mr and Mrs John Robinson and family; Mr and Mrs €. Robinson and family; Mr and. Mrs Kebbell, and family,, of Levin; Mr and Mrs Booth; Mrs Stewart, Mrs and Miss Thymic, Mrs Willie Robinson, Miss Grace Robinson, Miss Slack, Rev. and Mrs W. Walton and Miss Ritchie.

The bride’s going-away dress, was navy crepe-de-Chine trimmed with taffeta, navy coat and hat en suite. The Herald joins in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Mason, health and happiness. REILLY—GROVES. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Mary’s Church this after noon, by the Rev. Father McDermott, when Edith, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Groves, of Durham, England, was united to John Leo, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Reilly, of Durham, England. The bride was charmingly attired in a dress of beeehwood crepe de chene, with an over-frock of silver lace, with hat and shoes to match, and carried a white bouquet. The bridesmaid, Miss Florence Reed, of Palmerston North, wore a frock of lavender crepe de chene, with cream and lavender trimmings, and car ried a bouquet of lavender flowers. Mr. Douglas McDowell, of Palmerston North, officiated as best, man. The bride was given away by Mr. Vincent McDowell, of Foxton, cousin of the bridegroom. After the ceremony the friynds of the bride, and bridegroom were entertained at a wedding breakfast at the residence of Mr. V. McDowell, Avenue Road, when the usual felicitous speeches w r ere made and toasts honoured. Later in the afternoon the happy couple left on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a fawn repp costume with liat and shoes to tone.

Mr. Reilly is well and popularly known locally in connection with Messrs Madge Bros, motor services, and in company with their many friends, w,e join in wishing them health and happiness and future prosperity.

A unique.wedding was celebrated in, the Town Hall at Dannevirke, on Saturday night when Alex Francis Sipith, advance agent of the ’Commonwealth Band and son of Mr. and Mrs. F. \V. Smith (Brisbane), was married to Miss Marion Elizabeth Rice, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rice, of Dannevirke. The ceremony was perforated in the Town Hall by the Rev. H. Daniel, assisted by Mr. S. J. Bickerstnff, prior to the Band’s concert. Mr. H. Baile, the Band conductor, acted as best man. The building was crowded and great interest was taken in the ceremony. The Band played “The Bridal March,” and “A Voice That Breathed O’er Eden,” and while the register was being signed. “Because.”
