FOXTON AMATEUR CYCLING CLUB.
i ROAD CYCLE RACING Yesterday evening the Foxton Amateur Cycling Club inaugurated the first of a series of road races to be held on Wednesday afternoons. Two races were held, live miles for A riders and three miles for B riders. There was a large attendance of the public in Main Street to witness the events. The handicaps were as follows; Five Mile A grade:—Shortt ser., Aldridge .10 see, P. Honour 25 sec, Martin and Salhcrly 30 sec, G. Coley 40 see, 11. and C. Huff and Nowson 45 sec, Robinson, Bayliss, Simpson and Marshall 50 sec, Chalk and Newth CO see.
D. Satherley won by two lengths with Robinson 2nd and Honour a good distance away, third. Iv. Martin ran fourth. Three mile, B grade:—AA’. Williams scr, I. AVright 5 sec, E. Coley 10 sec, B. Newth and J. Satherley 15 sec, H. Newson, L. King and T. Taylor 30 sec, Hirini, Parfitt and Sharpe 40 sec, R. Honour 60 soC. L. King won by two lengths with the same distance between H. Newson 2nd and E. Coley 3rd. Satlieriev was fourth.
A reminder is given of the Cycling Club’s euchre party to be held in Hamer’s sample rooms this evening.
