DEATH OF MANGAHAO WORKER

A CASE OF SUICIDE. The body of a man named Albert Richard Roy was found on Wednesday morning lying on the road half way down the hill leading to the first dam at Mangahao (says the Levin Chronicle). Examination showed that deceased had committed suicide, his throat, being cut and the arterie in Lis arms opened, a razor, with which lie had done the rash act, being found alongside the body, together with a swag from which he had taken the razor. Roy was a man of about 30 years of age and is believed to have come from England. He had been working at Mangahao, hut was in town during Christinas week. Letters in his pockets of his clothing gave a clue to his identity, but there was no money on the body, nor anything giving a reason for taking his life.
